Questions
most frequently asked of creative team- Darrell Pierson and his wife Sherry.
"Do you ever photograph people who dont
look like models?"
"What does a model look like? When you see your proof sheets for
the first time you are looking at a model. For many people this is the
first time theyve viewed themselves from this perspective. And inevitably
theyre pleased! This is our profession, and why we love what we
do."
"Do you retouch your photos?"
"Limited digital retouching is included in the price of our prints.
When we get together to look at your proof sheets well look for
direction from you on retouching".
"Who is your typical customer?"
"While we specialize in photographing women we also photograph men
and couples. Our clients range in age from 20 to 67 but the median age
is probably mid thirties.
We think of our photography as affirmation photography- celebrating yourself,
your relationship, your accomplishments- a gift to yourself or someone
else. (A wedding gift to a new husband, a 30th or 40th birthday gift to
yourself, because youre not getting any younger, because youre
special just the way you are, because your partner would love it, because
youve always wanted to do something like this and finally there
is a safe place to do it!)
"Do I have to worry about my pictures showing
up on your website?"
Absolutely not. No photographs are used by us without a model release.
"Im interested. What do I do next?"
"The next step in the process is getting together for an informal
consultation which generally takes a half hour. Well show you samples
of other bodyscape photographs and exchange ideas based upon the direction
and look you want to portray. Well talk about studio versus outdoor
settings, listen to your opinions and concerns, and share our ideas. Its
important that you feel comfortable and that we have a mutual understanding
of the direction you want your bodyscape photo session to take. Most people
schedule their shooting date at this time."
"How many pictures do you typically shoot
at a bodyscape photo session?"
"During a typical bodyscape photo session we shoot between 60-75
images with the photo session lasting between 1 1/2 to 2 hours."
"Do you only do nude photography?"
"Heavens no! Its your special day and what you choose to wear
is up to you."
