If Darrell Pierson had never married Sherry Whitney, BodyPhotage would
never have been born.
Our company is the creative fusion of our combined personalities, insights
and talents AND our mission: to unveil the beauty in every body.
The BodyPhotage partnership is as much a husband-wife collaboration as
our marriage. It combines Darrell's quarter-century of experience as a
skilled commercial and fine art photographer, his artistic gifts and sensitivity
AND my sensibilities as a woman with a dedicated concern for the social
and psychological well being of all women. Our ultimate goal is to affirm
the self-image of every client who steps through our door by revealing
what we believe to be true:
In every body is a work of art.
Darrell's former commercial and fashion photography client list includes
3M, Ford Motor Company, BMW and many well-known individuals. But after
20+ years in the industry traveling and juggling two studios he was looking
for a change and new inspiration.
After we met, the philosophy for BodyPhotage developed quite naturally.
We believed we could allow people, especially women, to see themselves
through an artist's eyes. And we have watched and cheered (and been inspired
by!) the transformations that take place - both during photo sessions
and as clients look, with delighted disbelief, at their body portraits
One client wrote, "It is amazing to finally see yourself as what
you've always only wished you could be - to finally feel like a truly
beautiful person." It's true - what matters most is how you see yourself.
Darrell knows how to use light and shadows and posing techniques to accentuate
all your positives and to minimize your perceived flaws. His quiet confidence
and calm assurance are contagious; clients respond to his direction, and
I bring a feminine perspective to the mix, providing a helping hand and
a safe comfortable environment in which to work. At BodyPhotage we find
the model in you - and we quietly coax it out.
Darrell and I agree - this is by far the most satisfying work either of
us has ever done. In a small way, we get to affect people's lives by changing
the way they feel about themselves.
